We welcome the generous readers to the electronic site of the Yemen Petroleum Company and we have the pleasure to present you with brief information about the company branch in Taiz.
The Yemen Petroleum Company Branch in Taiz was founded on 1965 under the name of “Al-Mahroogat Company Office in Taiz”, therefore, the branch is considered from the old and distinctive branches to which the company upper management pays great attention to because of its significant role in supplying and distributing all requirements for the governorate needs of petroleum product. The governorate which is located in the south western part, has a surface area of approximately 1,000 km2, and a population reaching about 5.2 million which represents 14 % of the overall population. The Taiz governorate is characterized by its moderate climate along the year and the series of high mountains, the major part of them is covered with green terraces. On its main and subsidiary roads and the city’s entrances are 116 distributed stations for petroleum products. Taiz city is considered the capital of the governorate and its commercial and cultural center which is located in the bosom of Sober mountain which rises 3,200 m. above sea level.
The main building of the branch:
It is located on the western side of Taiz city, and is considered one of the distinctive architectural edifices in the city. It was opened by His Excellency President Ali Abdullah Saleh in July 8, 1996 in the presence of the Governor of the governorate with anumber of oil ministry officials. Joined to the main building is the branch resort building. It was furnished and equipped to receive and house the company visitors and employees visiting on business.
Sad Al-Jabelein Installation:
The Sad Al-Jabelein Installation is located on the road to Al-Turba city, and is composed of the administrative building and six fuel storage tanks and one water reservoir specifically for fire fighting.:
- Four tanks designated for diesel fuel with a total capacity of 6 million liters.
- Two tanks for benzene with a total capacity of 4 million liters.
Airplanes Fueling station in Taiz International Airport:
The branch, through this station, offers airplanes fueling services to supply their need for fuel. The station consists of the administrative building and the central laboratory for fuel testing and a number of tanks with total capacity of 280,000 liters. There are two filling tankers (Dodge), with a capacity of 36,000 liters and a Mercedes tanker with a capacity of 20,000 liters.
The readiness of this station is excellent to face actual and future requirements from the fueling and the industrial safety point of view.
