Historical Introduction about office establishment:
The Petroleum Company office in Shabwa was established in 1988 according to establishment decree No. (103) and according to this decree, many objectives have been assigned to this office, namely:
- The conduction of studies to know the real need of the governorate for oil products such as petrol, diesel and other oil derivatives, and work to make them available for the governorate and their distribution according to actual demand.
- The conduction of supervision and visitation on filling stations to ensure their adherence to the official prices and of their conformance to correct standards of operation and doing stamping operations.
- The supervision and operation of the company station in the governorate (Habban Station). In addition to applying a mechanism to monitor the governorate consumption of petroleum products from Hadramout and Aden installations until their arrival to their sites. The office also practices the supervision and follows up on the foreign companies working in the oil and gas fields in the governorate, and their adherence to drawing their consumption needs through the YPC.
Regional Projects and Installations:
Supervision and operation of the company station (Habban Station), and to accompany the development, we have re-qualified this station by its reconstruction to make it an ideal station which is now near completion.
To enhance the office revenues and realize a strategic storage in the governorate and to offer the best services for citizen, we act at the time being by the support of the company leadership to construct numbers of ideal stations in the capital of the governorate (Ataq) and in Balhaf region near the liquid gas exportation port, because of the economic importance of this region in the nearfuture.
Because of the very large area of Shabwa in addition to its axial location, it is being an assemblage center to numbers of lines that connect it with numbers of governorate such as Aden, Hadramout, Ma’rib and finally Alwadea’a way line – Ataq. Therefore, the number of working fuel stations in the governorate reaches about (110) stations distributed on (17) directorates.
Finally, we hope to have succeeded in presenting a brief presentation about objectives and activities of the office.
