All thanks to God and peace and blessing sof Allah to His Prophet Mohammed, the honest trustee. We welcome all visitors and browsers of our electronic site. The existence of this site was necessary for it to be a window, for any information or data related to this important economical entity which enjoys special care from the political leadership, represented by His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Foundation and Construction:

On 12 April 1986, the Marib refinery initiated operations with maximum production capacity, and on 13 April 1986, the YPC established an office for the distribution of petroleum products, its office located in the governorate offices compound. After that, the company reserved a suitable land area (1200 m x 800 m). A compound containing eight ready cabins were built, quickly on the reserved land. The transfer to the new site was done and the establishment of the branch which started to receive the petroleum products coming from the refinery to fill the needs of the regions located in the geographical zone, which is on the supplement responsibility of the branch, represented by the governorates of Marib and Al-Jouf and part of the governorates of Sana’a and Shabwa through agents from owners of private sector stations reaching 130 stations distributed on all regions in addition to supplying governmental enterprises and companies with petroleum products and transporting the excess quantity received from the refinery to other branches.

The most important branch projects between 1986-2006:

  1. Purchase the branch land, with area 1200m x 800m.
  2. Build a wall around the property.
  3. Construction of a Hanger for lubricant storage.
  4. Drill an artesian well
  5. Construction of water tanks and an underground tank with 37mc capacity.
  6. Construction of the branch building, composed of two stories and a basement equipped with high technical specification. There are also future projects among proposed plans that the branch wishes to realize such as:
    • Construction of strategic storage tanks in the Marib governorate.
    • Construction of ideal stations within branch jurisdiction in both Marib and Al-Jouf governorates.
    • Construction of social, cultural and sports clubs.
    • Construct or purchase resort facilities for the branch.

Labor Force:

The total number of employees in the branch on 2006 is 256 employees and the branch takes great care of its workforce and offers them all dues and privileges according to their employment performance.

Brief Information about Marib Governorate:

The Marib governorate is located east of the capital Sana’a at a 170 km distance, and it is considered to be the destination of each tourist Arab or Foreign, because of its historical, archaic and civilized edifices such as the Great Marib Dam – traces of drainage channels – Bilquis Throne – The Sun Temple.
