Branch foundation :
The branch was founded in May 1991 according to the decree by the minister of oil and mineral resources, and it included the following among its assets at the time of its foundation: Al-Mukalla installation, jet fuel unit and a number of filling stations in the governorate directorates.
The branch has gone through various stages in its formation and development based on the high importance which the governorate holds. Whereas the British in 1955, had committed an agreement with the Al-Qeitia State, stating the entry of petroleum derivatives to Hadhramout, and constructed the oil installations in the Khalaf region in 1957. The British state had ordered Shell Company to market in Hadhramout and southern Aden protectorates. Then, the work was assigned to the National Organization for Public Services. After the national independence for the south of Yemen specifically in March 1970, all installations were merged into the Yemen National Oil Company at that time. This situation remained until the declaration of the blessed unity which assisted vertical and horizontal expansion in the infrastructures and the fixed assets in all branch sites in the enterprises and airplanes fueling and the branch building and Al-Wadi, Desert and others.
