This branch is one of the main branches of the company because of the wide geographical zone which the branch covers for petroleum products, whereas, it covers the services for both Dhamar and Al-Baida’a governorates. These services reach to (Yareem – Kitab – Al-Radma- Al-Sadda- Al-Nadira) directorates in the Ibb governorate and (Kataba – Damt – Jibin) directorates in Al-Dhalie governorate…

The branch also possesses a large infrastructure, allowing it to function actively and according to a modern administration system. Therefore, it succeeded in covering the needs for petroleum products conformably with the agricultural, commercial, industrial and investment growth in our country.

The branch foundation and the stages of formation:

It was founded in Dhamar in 1989 and started operation with six employees, and so the stages of the branch formation continue until today – where the general director of the branch acts to organize the branch and directing its affairs.

Stages of development and Enhancement taken place until today:

The branch has passed through development stages in the domain of commercial, constructional and service activity. The most important stages were the process of renovation and development which started at the beginning of 2005.

Development and renovation of work performance through concepts which support it, approaches and mechanisms used through training the administration force with modern administration approaches, and also, all specialized courses for specialized employees in all departments and the conduction of the management of the machinery process through the expansion in using automation and information technology systems until Dhamar branch became distinctive in this field and able to operate systems and programs in all fields, for instance :

The automation of:

• Human Resources and Payroll systems
• Financial systems
• Commercial systems and processes

The branch has transformed from the rudimental traditional approach ( the registration in records- archiving in files, to concepts and approaches more advanced and developed through the expansion in using automation and computers. The branch is characterized by 90 % of its employees being able to operate these programs.

Brief Information about Dhamar City:

The Yemen Petroleum Company Dhamar branch is located in the northern side of Dhamar city, the historic Hemiarian city which was the capital of Hemiarian king Dhamar Ali Bahirish, who built it and named it according to his name from the Hemiarian Era until today.

Dhamar was a beacon of science in the Islamic Era. Among the most important scientific edifices in it, the Sun School in Dhamar which graduated a large number of scientists in the field of figh, interpretation, language and literature such as the poet Abdullah Al-Baradoni.
