We welcome you and thank you for your visit to the Yemen Petroleum Company - branch of Aden; its General Director has the pleasure to welcome you a warm welcome hoping that you benefit in observing our branch and without any doubt, we are full of happiness while we travel with you to know one of the economical and service edifices.
The company branch is located in Aden at the eastern edge of Al-Mualla directorate of Aden governorate. It was established according to the legal advertisement No. (33) in 1970 relating to the Economic Corporation’s decision No. (38) in 1970 issued in March 1, 1970 which was based on the text of the article (5) of the Economic Corporation’s law for the sector and the national planning No. (37) issued in 27 November 1969 and the text of the article (1) of it. A subsidiary company to the Oil Authority was established called (The Yemen Petroleum Company) and the article (3) had specified the main center of the company in Aden city. And the decision of the ministerial cabinet No (191) in 1990 issued in 5/12/1990, came to merge the two oil companies in both of Aden and Sana’a in one company named as the Yemen Petroleum Company and its items specified its main office, its capital, and its branches in the governorates. The branch is considered as one of the most important and bigger branches of the company, whereas, it owns fixed assets such as the Little Aden Installations which supply the Aden governorate along with a number of governorates and is connected with a direct oil pipeline which pumps from the Aden Refinery.
The branch has worked during its development stages to:
- Raise the workers performance level by offering them opportunities for training domestically and abroad in all fields related to their activities.
- Construction of a training and qualification center in the branch.
- Expansion of the storage capacity in the petroleum installations belonging to the branch and in the filling stations.
- Maintaining and rebuilding the fueling stations and the acquisition of new sites.
- Enlarge the fueling zone coverage of the branch.
Of the branch activities, the expansion of its zone of marketing activity, therefore, it created a marketing channel network as follows:
Petroleum distribution stations belonging to it, petroleum distribution stations belonging to agents from the private sector and cooperative distributed on a number of governorates. Electrical generation stations, supplying airplanes through Yemen BP ltd which is a marketing agent for the company, and organizes the marketing relationship between the branch and others.Agreements and contracts and legal regulations; and the branch acts in the framework of its future projects.
Brief information about the city:
Aden is considered the eye of Yemen, it bosoms the sea, guarded by the mountain, overlooking the Arab sea, red sea and the Indian ocean. Its climate is hot in summer and moderate in winter. Its important cities are the famous Crater with its historical edifices, Aden cisterns and Sabra citadel. Then Khor Maksar city which bosoms Aden airport, and a number of scientific and service centers like the University of Aden and the General Republic Hospital. Aden is connected to a modern and advanced transportation network and the most important new edifices of Aden is the oil refinery which is located in Al-Bauraiga city.
